PRINCETON, NJ (05/10/03) -- Saint Joseph's senior Brian Rosetti placed fourth in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:48.10, bettering his NCAA Regional qualifying time to lead a strong Hawk showing at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton. Senior Jerry Puryear also met NCAA Regional standards in the 400mh, which he finished second with a time of 51.94, just .04 seconds off his season best.
Freshman Andrew Thomas won the 400m dash (47.64) and met IC4A qualifying standards. He is just .19 off qualifying for the NCAA Regionals in the event and will attempt to shave the precious hundredths of a second off his time at next week's IC4A Championships.
Sophomore Collin Martin neared NCAA qualifying time with his 9:14.80 in the 3000 steeplechase, good for fourth place. Junior Nick Carras also placed fourth in the 200m (22.29). Sophomore Brad Schmidt met IC4A standards in the 1500m with a time of 3:50.68.
Saint Joseph's returns to Princeton next weekend for the IC4A Championships.
