FISHER, BUTLER NAMED TOP SENIOR ATHLETES

FISHER NAMED STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR FOR INDOOR TRACK

PHILADELPHIA (04/02/03) - Senior Tim Fisher was named the Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the year and was one of four Hawks honored on the academic all-conference team for indoor track. Fisher was joined by teammates Nick Carras and Doug Rick on the men's team and senior Sarah Conway on the women's side. An accounting major, Fisher won the 5000m at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championships in February. He was also a all-conference honoree in the 5000m in both indoor and outdoor track last season and was a member of the academic all-conference team during both seasons as well. He sports a GPA of 3.66. Carras was a member of the SJU record setting 4x400 relay team that won gold at the Atlantic 10 Championships. Carras also finished with the league's fastest time of the season in the 200m dash. The junior is a pharmaceutical marketing major with a GPA of 3.50. Rick was also a member of the A-10 gold and school record holding 4x400 relay team, along with earning gold in the 400m at the Atlantic 10 Championships. He had the second fastest times in the conference in both the 400m and 500m dash. The sophomore is a finance major with a GPA of 3.13. Conway earned gold in the 800m run and silver in the 4x800 relay at the A-10 Indoor Championships. Her time in the 800m was the second fastest in the conference during the season. She is a finance major with a GPA of 3.63
