PRINCETON, NJ (05/18/03) - Senior Jerry Puryear and the 4x400 relay team continued their fine showing this season at this weekend's IC4A Championships at Princeton. Puryear ran a season-best time in the 400m hurdles (51.51) to place second, while the 4x400 also took silver with a time of 3:09.83.
The 4x800 relay team placed 7th in its event with a time of 7:29:03, while freshman Andrew Thomas ran the 400m dash in a time of 48.47, good for 17th. Junior Nick Carras also placed 17th in the 200m dash (22.22), while sophomore Collin Martin finished the 3000m steeplechase in 9:34.66, good for 28th.
The Hawks placed 22nd out of 50 teams in the championships. Puryear and the 4x400 relay will continue on to the NCAA Regional Championships.
