PHILADELPHIA (03/08/02) - The Saint Joseph's University women's basketball team has announced today that junior forward
Colleen McGahan has been cleared to play and will return to the SJU lineup for the postseason. McGahan, who missed the final five games of the regular season and the entire Atlantic 10 Tournament, broke the ring finger in her right hand during the team's practice session at the Dayton Arena on Saturday, Februaty 9. One of the team's captains, McGahan had returned to form this season after missing all of the 2000-01 season with a stress fracture. The second most accurate three-point shooter in school history, she had appeared in all 22 of SJU's games prior to the injury, making seven starts. She was averaging 7.1 points per game (fourth on the team) and ranked sixth in the nation in three-point shooting accuracy, connecting at a 46.7% clip this year.
