PHILADELPHIA (08/07/01) -The Saint Joseph's University women's basketball team has added a pair of transfers, sophomore
Kristin Cuff (Marquette) and junior
Erin Brady (American). The tandem will practice with the team, but are ineligible to compete this season due to NCAA transfer regulations. Both Brady and Cuff will be eligible to suit up for SJU beginning with the 2002-03 season.
Brady, a junior, competed for two seasons at American University in Washington, D.C. Arguably the Eagles best player, she led the team with 11.7 ppg, 3.2 assists per game, and 2.56 steals per game, but missed the final 10 games of the season with a leg injury. A native of Weatherly, Pa., she was a first team all-state and USA Today honorable mention All-American at Marian Catholic after scoring 2,089 career points.
Cuff, a high school teammate of current Hawk
Elizabeth Mohan at Nativity BVM, played last season at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She appeared in 16 games for Marquette, providing the team with frontcourt depth and excellent range from the perimeter. The Pottsville, Pa. native was the Pennsylvania Small School Player of the Year in 2000 and a two-time first team all-state choice after leading Nativity to back-to-back state titles. Cuff tallied 1,916 career points and 1,079 points in high school.
