PHILADELPHIA (04/07/03) - Saint Joseph's senior Brandie Adams was named the Atlantic 10 Conference co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 6. In her only appearance of the week, Adams threw a two-hit shutout in Saint Joseph's 4-0 win at Rhode Island on April 6. It was her first shutout of the year, and ninth of her brilliant career. She struck out four Rams in the game, allowing just two walks. Adams, a 2002 Verizon Third Team Academic All-America selection. is now 4-1 on the year with a 1.56 ERA. UMass senior pitcher Kelly Arnold, who tossed two shutouts, shared the honor with Adams.
