HAVERFORD, PA (1/24/04) - Paced by large contingents in the 400, 800 and 1500m, the Saint Joseph's men's track team was able to get in some quality work at the Haverford Invitational.
SJU entered eight runners in the 400m with
Jerry Puryear (49.99) and
Nick Carras (50.55) placing second and third, respectively.
Chris Koneski (51.28) was fifth.
In the 800m event,
Andrew Thomas (1:58.49) led five Hawk runners with a sixth place finish.
The Crimson and Gray also entered five runners in the 1500m with Rob Meyer (4:04.28) and
Teddy Meyers (4:05.69) placing seventh and ninth.
Other top efforts for SJU came in the 200m where
Joe Bieret (23.75),
Terry O'Connell (24.01), and Ron Skoteleski (24.04) went two, three and four.
