Brian Rosetti was recognized as the Most Outstanding performer at the 2002 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships, helping the Hawks to a second place finish overall. Rosetti was backed by freshman
Eric Chekemian, who garnered Most Outstanding Rookie accolades. Rosetti won the mile (4:11.24) and ran on the winning Distance Medley Relay, while Chekemian won the 500m dash and was a member of the 1600m relay team.
Senior
James Scott won the 200 meter dash in a time of 21.81 seconds while junior
Tim Fisher (14:52.03) and sophomore
Andy Craycraft (1:54.79) also won the 5,000 and 800 meter respectively.
Other performers for the Hawks included a second place finish in the 400 meter for sophomore
Nick Carras (49.53) and a third place finish for
Jim Smith, who ran the 1000 in a time of 2:28.08.
SJU also swept the relay races winning the Distance Medley Relay (10:11.21), the 4x400 (3:18.22) and the 4x800 (7:39.69) during Saturday afternoon's Championships.
SJU next compete's Friday and Saturday, February 22-23, at the Last Chance Meet at Virginia Tech.
