MIRANO, ITALY (08/20/02) - Road-weary from an extended day of travel and touring (Florence and Venice), the Saint Joseph's University women's basketball team routed the Como/Milan All-Stars, 83-35. Once again, junior
Stephanie Graff was the catalyst, with no opponent able to combat her size and strength. Graff posted her second straight double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
The Crimson and Gray dominated from the opening tip to the final buzzer. The squad was particularly effective in the first and fourth quarters, outscoring the All-Stars 43-9 in those two periods.
In addition to Graff, juniors
Erin Brady and
Amra Mehmedic added 13 points and 15 points, respectively. Eight of the nine available Hawks scored, highlighted by consecutive three-point baskets by junior
Esther Hoffer in the fourth quarter.
The team, which had one game cancelled on the trip went 2-0 in Italy and returns to the States on Wednesday.
