ANNAPOLIS, MD (02/08/03) - Sophomore Doug Rick won the 500 meters with a IC4A qualifying time of 1:03.89 as the Hawks finished fifth at the Navy Invitational on Saturday. Junior Chris Koneski also ran the 500m, finishing third with a time of 1:06.24. Other top times included junior Kile Garguilo in the 400m (4th, 50.60) and senior Jerry Puryear in the 800m (4th, 1:57.97). Junior Rich Cullin placed sixth in the 3000m with a time of 8:53.40. The 4x440 yard relay finished third overall with a time of 3:23.30. Resting its top runners, SJU placed fifth in the five team field behind Navy, La Salle, Fordham and Delaware. They return to action next weekend at the Armory Challenge.
