KINGSTON, RI (02/22/03) - Senior Brian Rosetti snapped his own meet record in the mile to highlight six first place finishes at Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championships at Rhode Island. La Salle was the overall team winner breaking Rhode Island's two year hold of the league title. SJU placed third overall.
Rosetti was a winner in the mile (4:10.45), snapping his own record from last winter (4:11.24). He also had a second place showing in the 3000m (8:32.73), just being edged out by La Salle's Bryan Skelly (8:32.16) for two gold medals.
The Hawks had four other golds - sophomore Doug Rick (400m, 48.60), freshman Andrew Thomas (500m, 1:03.84), senior Tim Fisher (5000m, 15:05.32) and the 4x400 relay. Other strong showings were put in by junior Chris Koneski (4th, 500m, 1:05.66), sophomore Rich Anderson (4th, 1000m, 2:30.83) and freshman Andre Laboy (3rd, 3000m, 8:33.41).
