Cara Deldeo were honored as the Atlantic 10 Pitcher and Rookie of the Week for their efforts in leading the Hawks to a perfect 10-0 record at the Gene Cusic Classic in Ft. Myers, Fla. last week.
Travis posted a 6-0 record with a 0.23 ERA. She struck out 40 batters over 31 innings of work, including a career high 10 in a win over Albany. The sophomore from Newark, Del, (St. Mark's) also recorded three shutouts in her five starts, allowing just one earned run on the week.
Deldeo, a freshman from Dagsboro, Del. (Indian River), started all 10 games in the outfield for the Hawks. The team's lead-off hitter, she batted a team-high .516, recording 16 hits over 31 at-bats. She also tied for team honors with 10 runs scored, roped two doubles, drove in five RBI and stole two bases.
