DURHAM, NC (4/03/04) - Three members of the Saint Joseph's men's track team met IC4A qualifying standards, along with the 4x800 relay, as SJU turned in a strong weekend effort at the Duke Invitational at Wallace Wade Stadium.
Sophomore
Andrew Thomas delivered SJU's top effort placing sixth in the seeded 400m race and meeting IC4A standards with an Atlantic 10 season-best time of 47.30.
Dave Masse, who finished seventh in the 5,000, ran 31:11.71 in the 10,000m to qualify for IC4As.
Jerry Puryear also qualified after placing tneth in the seeded 400m Intermediate Hurdles in 53.32.
The 4x800m relay team of
Matt Petrocci,
Brad Schmidt,
Chris Kessler and
Mike DiDio also surpassed IC4A standards, placing fourth overall in an A-10 best time of 7:38.75.
Other quality performances were turned in by DiDio who ran an A-10 best time of 3:53.09 to place eleventh in the seeded 1500m run.
Collin Martin placed eighth in the 3000m Steeplechase and ran a season-best time of 9:24.23.
Andre Laboy delivered the second fastest time in the Conference this spring racing a 14:38.57 to finish ninth in the 5000m
