HAWKS COMPETE AT RUTGERS

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - The Saint Joseph's University men's track team competed at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday, January 5. The Hawks were led by sophomore Andy Craycraft who ran the 500-meter dash with an ICAAAA qualifying time and school record of 1:03.0. Craycraft teamed up with senior Brian Rosetti and Jim Smith and freshman newcomer Rich Anderson to place first in the 4x800 (7:53.7). Juniors Tim Fisher and Jerry Puryear were individual winners in the 3000-meter dash (8:36.7) and the long jump (21'7 1/2") respectively. Other performers included Anderson's second place finish in the mile (4:22) and senior Mike McCabe's 50.0 second finish in the 400-meter, good for second. Freshman Brad Schmidt and senior Tim Smith both notched second place finishes in the 1000 and 800 meter respectively. The Hawks will travel to Penn State on January 11 to compete in the U.S.T.C.A. series meet.
