PHILADELPHIA (12/13/02) - The Saint Joseph's University women's basketball team has inked three players for the 2003-04 season during the NCAA's early signing period. Leading the newcomers is Ayahna Cornish a 5-8 guard from Philadelphia's Cardinal Dougherty High School. Cornish averaged 22.0 ppg and was named MVP of the Philadelphia Catholic League's Northern Division as a junior in 2001-02.
Also joining the backcourt will be Canadian import Whitney Ffrench. A native of New Minas, Nova Scotia, the 5-9 point guard preps this season at Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass.
The final early signee Erica Pollock will add frontcourt depth. A 6-2 center, the Bowie, Md. native averaged 14.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg at Riverdale Baptist H.S.
