CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (4/10/04) - Running the fastest times in the Atlantic 10 this year, sophomore
Mike DiDio met IC4A qualifying standards in the 1500m and the 4x400 relay improved upon its IC4A qualifying mark to lead the Saint Joseph's men's track team to an eighth place finish with 37 points at the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational held at Lannigan Field at the University of Virginia.
DiDio dazzled at 1500, placing third overall in a time of 3:50.69. The 4x400, meanwhile finished second in a time of 3:13.61.
In addition to those two times, sophomore Andrew Thomas was fifth in the 800m, establishing a new A-10 season best with a time of 1:52.33. Brad Schmidt finished ninth in the 800 in a time of 1:53.00.
Chris Koneski ran a 48.47 in the 400m to place sixth, but was the fourth collegian across the finish line. Joe Mohn ran 4:00.53 at 1500m.
Senior Rich Cullin placed fourth in the 5000m by running a 15:18.16. Classmate Jerry Puryear was sixth in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 53.99. Freshman Jerome Harris ran 15.44 in the 110m High Hurdles.
Sophomore Jeff Jengo scored in the javelin with a throw of 147-10.
