Despite the 6:00 AM wake up call, I think that Friday was the best day yet!
After breakfast we were off to wait in a very long line to get into the Vatican - Along with every other tourist in Rome. Once inside, we visited a few museums where our tour guide Cynthia (pronounced "chin-see-ya") bombarded us about everything and anything. It was very informative, but sometimes a bit much (She was a talker!). The museums were beautiful, but nothing compared to the Sistine Chapel. Words cannot explain its beauty and unfortunately we were unable totake pictures, so you will just have to imagine beautifaul, amazing paintings and then multiply it by ten! If that wasn't enough, we then entered St.Peter's Bascilica. Unbelieveable architecture! It was breathtaking. The size alone was incredible.
After a nice team picture, we boarded the bus to start the journey to Sorrento. After a bite of food and a well needed nap, we arrived on the penninsula where Sorrento was located. Sorrento is on the coast and cliffs were everywhere. Again we were surrounded by gorgeous scenery. A short tour as we approached the hotel was inevitable.
Once settled, we enjoyed a nice Italian dinner on the deck of the hotel, followed by a little walking. The team decided to head out into the streets. It was a very "young" place compared to Rome. Shops everyeverywhere, people, lights...it was nice. The fun ended a little earlier than we may have liked (gameday curfew), but I think the day was so enjoyable nobody really minded.
Friday was outstanding! We miss you all and wish you were here!
