KINGSTON, RI (3/06/03) - The Saint Joseph's University women's basketball team will open Atlantic 10 Tournament play with a quarterfinal matchup against Rhode Island on Friday at 4:00 PM. SJU swept URI during the regular season posting a 73-53 win at the Fieldhouse on January 12 and a 76-54 victory at the Ryan Center just over a week ago, 67-54. The Hawks have won 14 straight over Rhodey since 1996. A Hawk victory over Rhode Island would propel SJU into the semifinals where they would face the winner of the La Salle - Xavier game on Saturday at 6:00 PM.
