HAWK MEN PLACE FIFTH AT A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP

    RICHMOND, VA (5/02/04) - The Saint Joseph's men placed fifth at the 2004 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Rhode Island claimed the men's title.

    For the men, sophomore Andrew Thomas took first in the 800m with a time of 1:53.18. Collin Martin won the 5000 in 15:15.04 and was second in the 3000m Steeplechase in a time of 9:05.55. The Hawks also won the 4x400 relay.

    URI, which totaled 247 points, was followed in the standings by La Salle (142.5), Massachusetts (122), Duquesne (106), Saint Joseph's (81), Fordham (55), Richmond (51), and Temple (45.5).
