HAWKS PLACE SECOND AT LAFAYETTE INVITATION

EASTON, PA - The St. Joseph's men's track team captured second place at the Lafayette Invitationa on Satuday. The Hawks defeated Rider, Lafayette and Fairleigh Dickinson while Monmouth took first. SJU captured seven first place finishes, including two by junior James Scott who won both the 100 meter (10.89) and 200 meter (21.63) dashes. Junior Marc Maccario claimed first placein th 400 meter dash ( 48.58) while Brian Rosetti and Karl Savage finished first in the 800 meter (1:53.9) and 1500 meter (3:59.26) runs, respectively. The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams round out SJU's first place finishers. Other individual highlights include second place finishes by Maccario in the 200 meter dash (22.09), Savage in the 800 (1:54.3), Jeff Storch in the 1500 (3:59.60) and Tim Fisher in the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:33.37). Freshman Andy Craycraft took home third in the 400 (49.15) while Jerry Puryear placed third in the 400 meter hurdles (55.47) and fifth in both the long jump and 110 meter hurdles.
