HAVERFORD, PA -
The Saint Joseph's University men's track team competed at the Haverford Invitational this weekend. Several of the upperclassmen were resting their legs this weekend, giving some of the underclassmen a chance to shine. Strong performances by sophomore Chris Alexander and freshman Matt Weaver highlighted the meet for the Hawks.
Alexander finished fourth in the 400m in 52.92 and second in the long jump with a distance of 20.07-25. Weaver posted a second place finish in the 200m with a time of 24.98.
The men's track team also received other strong performances. Redshirt junior Rich Anderson finished eighth in the 800m in 2:00.88. Sophomore Shawn Duffy was seventh in the 3000m with a time of 9:10.87 and sophomore Matt McClure took fourth in the shot put, throwing a distance of 39-01.25. The Hawks also ran two 4x400m relay teams that finished second and fourth.
