Rick Leads Hawk Men at NCAA Regional Championship

Rick, DiDio, Martin, Meyers Lead Hawk Contingent at Onesty Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Seniors Doug Rick and Collin Martin and junior Mike DiDio all posted the Atlantic 10's best time and met IC4A qualifying standards in their respective events to lead the Saint Joseph's men's track team to a fourth place finish at Virginia's Lou Onesty Invitational.

Rick and Martin both placed second in their events. Rick ran 47.74 in the 400m, he was followed closely by Andrew Thomas (49.22) and Joe Bieret (50.35), three of eight Hawks entered in the event. Martin, maenwhile, competed in the 3,000M Steeplechase and placed second overall in a time of 9:08.33.

DiDio led an impressive Hawk contingent in the 1500M. He placed third overall in a time of 3:50.25, leading four Hawks across the line.

Sophomore Teddy Meyers also impressed taking first in the 5,000M. He turned in the A-10's second fastest time this season and met IC4A standards with a time of 14:35.18.

In addition to those individuals, SJU also received a sixth place finish from Jeff Jengo in the Javelin with a toss of 169-10. The 4x400 Relay of Bieret, Rick, Matt Petrocci and Joe Witiw placed third and also met IC4A standards with a time of 3:16.63.
