4x400 Leads Way for SJU Men at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - A first place finish in the Wetzler/Pennsylvania 4x400 Relay highlighted a solid weekend of competition for the Saint Joseph's men's track team over the weekand at the 2005 Penn Relays at Franklin Field.

The quartet of Joe Witiw, Matt Petrocci, Joe Bieret and Doug Rick circled the oval in a time of 3:15.63, downing second place Delaware by nearly 3.0 seconds. The Hawks also had entries in both the Distance and Sprint Medley Relays. The DMR placed 14th in its heat with a time of 10:15.90, while the SMR won its heat but suffered a disqualification.

Individually, senior Collin martin placed 15th in the Steeplechase with a time of 9:20.27.
