PHILADELPHIA -
Saint Joseph's softball head coach Terri Adams today announced that Dana Bieniek had signed a National Letter of Intent for the 2007-08 academic year.
A three-year starter at shortstop, Bieniek has helped Rancocas Valley Regional to great success, leading her squad to three straight Liberty Division titles and the 2005 New Jersey State championships. Individually, Bieniek has made an impact from her very first season, earning All-State Second Team honors as a rookie. A three-time First Team All-Liberty Division, All-County, All-South Jersey, All-Area, and All-State Group 4 selection, she has posted a .486 batting average with 142 hits, 28 doubles, 15 triples and 36 stolen bases heading into her senior season. Already the program's all-time leader in home runs (16) and extra-base hits (59), Bieniek earned All-State First Team honors as a sophomore and junior and has compiled a 19-5 record with 164 strike outs and a 0.62 earned-run-average on the mound.
A standout student-athlete year-round, Bieniek also lettered in both soccer and basketball at Rancocas Valley, and holds the soccer team's all-time scoring record.
