The Hawks finished fourth with 51 points Saturday at the Rider-Lafayette 6 Way. Saint Joseph's had a total of five 1st place finishes and 10 finishes in the top three.
Senior Mike DiDio and Junior Teddy Meyers were among the standouts for the day, each earning a first place finish. DiDio took first in the 1,500m (3:54.30) while Meyers finished right behind him in second with 3:55.20. The pair then went on to take first and third in the 5,000m as Meyers finished with a 15:08.43 and DiDio with 15:35.92.
Joe Bieret, Brad Schmidt, Bobby Staten, and Andrew Thomas were also top finishers for the Hawks. Schmidt took second in the 800m (1:58.09) while Thomas (48.71) and Bieret (50.78) teamed up to take first and third respectively in the 400m. Bobby Staten added 10 points to the Hawks' tally by placing first in the 100m (10.96) and second in the 200m (22.34).
Saint Joseph's also finished first in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:20.75, placing them among the top A-10 performances this season.
Mike Howanski, Justin Heinze, Brendan Kearney and Stephen Young made up the four freshmen runners competing at the event for the Hawks.
Host Rider University took first with 90 points followed by Lafayette College finishes second (68.50) and Moravian College in third (52.50).
The Hawks return to action Friday April 7th and Saturday April 8th at the Duke Invitational.
