PHILADELPHIA, PA - Saint Joseph's was represented by a mostly senior contingent at the Penn Relays Saturday and Sunday at Franklin Field. The Hawks competed in three events placing second in their sections in two.

In the Distance Medley Relay, the senior team of Brad Schmidt, Andrew Thomas, Matt Petrocci, and Mike DiDio had a time of 9:48.93 and finished 2nd out of 30.

In the 4x400, senior Joe Bieret joined Petrocci, sophomore Bobby Staten, and Thomas for a 3:16.08 time. The team finished 2nd out o f 10 in the Wetzler/Pennsylvania section.

Brendan Kearney, the lone Hawk freshman competitor for the day, ran the second leg of the 4x800 with Schmidt, Petrocci and DiDio. The team finished 9th out of 31 in their section with a time of 7:37.60.

The Hawks' next meet is this Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7th at the Atlantic 10 Championships in Charlotte, NC.
