UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Two golds and two silvers from SJU's relay teams helped pace the men's track team at the Penn State Relays on Saturday. The 4x200 Meter and the Sprint Medley Relays were both victorious in their 2009 debuts.
Paul Barolette, Bobby Staten, Brian Smith, Jesse Brooks led the SMR in victory would the crew of Tom DiNatale, Barolette, Nick DeFeo and Staten guided the 4x200m baton to first as well.
Senior Steve Young and Brendan Kearney along with sophomore Brian Guterl helped pace the DMR and the 4x800 Meter squads to second-place showings. On the DMR Brooks helped on the 800-meter leg while Dylan Wenik assisted the 4x800m team.
The two other relays--the 4xMile and the 4x400m--finished third and fourth, respectively.
Jimmy Jennings also posted a third-place showing in the 3K, completing the 15 circuits in a time of 8:48.18.
The Hawks will head to the Armory in New York City to compete in the Gotham Cup on Friday. The first event is slated to kick off at 1:00 p.m.
