KINGSTON, R.I.--The Saint Joseph's men's track team struggled on Day Two at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing eighth with 50 points. Bobby Staten earned two silver medals for his performances in the 55m and 200m dashes.
Staten was jus .01 behind Charlotte's Sam Jordan in the 55m. After earning eight points in the 55m, Staten went on to earn eight more in the 200m.
Staten was second behind Charlotte's Darius Law who won the event in 21.77. Staten ran 22.02. Newcomber Tom DiNatale was seventh in the finals.
The best finish, other than Staten, by a Hawk was from Will Rowland in the 3K. His fourth-place showing was helped by a 8:36.16 in the event.
Luke Fischer (1,000m) and Brian Guterl (Mile) earned seventh in their respective events as did the 4x400m Relay squad.
Saint Joseph's entered the second day in fourth after a strong showing Friday night.
The Hawks will compete in the NYU Fastrack event next week in the final tune up for the IC4A Championships in March.
