WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Behind victories from Kyle Murray and Will Rowland, the Saint Joseph's men's track & field squad finished 15th of 24 teams with 28 points at the 44th Annual Colonial Relays.
Murray opened the meet with a victory in the 3,000m Steeplechase. The senior distanceman won in a time of 9:21.49.
Fellow distance runner, Will Rowland, won the 10,000m Run in a time of 30:32.14. Sophomore Kevin Donnelly (31:57.59) placed eighth in the event.
Murray anchored the mile leg of the Distance Medley Relay that finished fifth in a time of 10:09.92. Brian Guterl opened the event with the 1,200m leg, while Jared Sabre (400m) and Luke Fischer (800m) rounded out the squad.
Guterl would go on to run to eighth place in the 1,500m Run in a time of 3:52.51.
SJU's best sprinting performance came from Bobby Staten in the 200m Dash. His 21.84 time was good enough for fifth.
Saint Joseph's will return to the track next week when the Hawks will travel back to Virginia for the Lou Onesty Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia.
