The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the Gotham Cup at the Armory Track and Field Center on Friday evening. Freshman Kevin McDonnell led the Hawks with a third place showing in the 3,000 meter run.
McDonnell finished the 3,000m in 8:30.19, finishing third of 57 runners, while Jon Mazzio took 24th in 9:01.77.
Brian Guterl placed seventh with a time of 4:20.71 in the seeded mile run while Kyle Gorczynski took 14th (4:30.32) in the unseeded mile run.
In the 5,000 meter run senior George Wittmann placed 12th (15:34.62) while David Evans followed closely in 13th (15:36.28).
In the 800 meter run Dave Manion placed 15th (2:01.52) and in the 1,000 meter run Andrew Townsend also took 15th (2:36.39).
In the triple jump John DiPersio had a 4th place showing (43'3 3/4") while Vinh Nghi To took eighth (41'5 1/4") and placed 11th in the long jump (20' 1/2"). Victor DiNoia took ninth in the long jump with a mark of 20'3".
The Hawks finished sixth (10:28.82) in the distance medley relay, eighth in the 4x800m (8:17.52) and 10th in the 4x400m (3:22.33).
SJU competes next at Princeton on Saturday, January 23.
