The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed at the Princeton Relays on Saturday morning. Junior Jared Sabre led the Hawks with a first place finish in the 500 meter run.
Sabre ran the 500 meter in 1:06.45 to take first, while Steven Philbrook took fourth in 1:09.35. Sabre also helped the Hawks to a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.
Freshman Andrew Townsend placed second overall in the 800 meter run with a season-best time of 1:57.73 while freshman Garrett Barbalinardo took second place in his section and sixth overall also with a season-best finish (2:01.20).
In the mile, Murphy O'Donnell finished second with a personal-best 4:25.42 while Jon Mazzio also finished with a personal-best time (4:26.09) and Ryan Birchemeier won his section with a personal-best 4:33.03.
Freshman Connor Hubschmann placed third in his section and fourth overall in the 300 meter dash in 36.07 seconds while Tom DiNatale won in his section (36.23).
David Smith was fourth in the first section and seventh overall in a personal-best 51.60 while Drew Brandt was third in his section in 52.58.
Walker ran the 800 meter in a time of 2:18.48 after winning the 1,000 meter last week in the Gotham Cup.
In jumps, Victor DiNoia and Vinh Nghi To had personal-bests in the long jump. DiNoia had a mark of 20'8" while To had a 20'5 ¼" jump and a fifth place finish in the triple jump (42'4 ¼").
The Hawks compete again on Friday evening at Penn State and Saturday morning at Delaware.
