Freshman Sara Walker Leads Women's Track at Princeton

Princeton, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team competed at the Princeton Relays on Saturday morning. Freshman Sara Walker won the 800 meter run to lead the Hawks, winning an event for the second consecutive week.

Walker ran the 800 meter in a time of 2:18.48 after winning the 1,000 meter last week in the Gotham Cup.

Allison Smith and Hannah Boyce had season-best times in the high jump, tying for second with a 5'3" jump. Nohjay Nimpson took second in the triple jump with a 37'6" mark while Beth Getty placed 11th in both the triple (32'3 ¾") and long jump (16'6 ½").

In the mile junior Jessica Di Cicco finished second in the seeded (first) section, finishing in 5:16.28, while Samantha Peters took second (5:18.41) in the second section for a fourth place finish overall.

Jessica Chen had a season-best time (9.28) in the finals of 60 meter hurdles placing sixth, while Stefani Zabilowicz had a fourth place finish (9.21) in preliminaries and then took seventh (9.35) in the finals after hitting the last hurdle.

In the 60 meter dash Ashley Williams won her heat (sixth overall/8.02) to make the finals and placed fifth with a time of 7.99 seconds.

Caitlin McGrath finished the 300 meters with a season-best 42.29 seconds, while Emily Coldren (44.16) and Francesca D'Angelo (44.57) each won their heats.

The Hawks compete again on Friday evening at Penn State and Saturday morning at Delaware.
