GAME STORIES . . .
The 30-day break between home games is the longest gap for the Hawks since the 1991-92 season in which they had a 33-day span between home games against Penn State (11/30) and Duquesne (1/2).
Sunday's game is the second-straight Big 5 contest for the Hawks. Saint Joseph's is 1-0 on the year after Tuesday's 60-45 win at Penn.
Sunday's game is also the 36th meeting between Saint Joseph's and Villanova, with SJU holding a 23-12 edge in the series. The contest marks the first time the series has been played at Hagan Arena.
The Hawks enter the game with a 91-33 all-time record in Big 5 contests and have claimed 15 city series titles.
Several former teammates will face off come Sunday. Saint Joseph's freshman Erin Shields and Villanova's Megan Pearson were teammates at Archbishop Carroll, while SJU's junior Katie Kuester and the Wildcats' Devon Kane were teammates at the Academy of Notre Dame De Namur.
Tuesday's win at Penn marked the end of Saint Joseph's seven-game road swing. The Hawks posted a 4-3 record during that span.
The 2010-11 season marks the 38th year of Division I women's basketball at Saint Joseph's. The Hawks are five wins shy of 700, having posted a 695-362 all-time record.
