PHILADELPHIA - Guiding the Saint Joseph's women's basketball team to wins over Penn and Villanova last week, junior guard Michelle Baker was honored for her play with Big 5 Player of the Week accolades.

Averaging 13.5 points per game, Baker opened the week with a team-high 12 points in the Hawks win at Penn. Saint Joseph's leading scorer at 15.7 points per game, she also added a career-best seven assists to got with a block, a steal and a rebound as SJU opened its Big 5 schedule with a 60-45 win over the Quakers.

On Sunday, Baker scored 10 of her team-high 15 points in the second half as the Hawks improved to 2-0 in the Big 5 with a 46-43 win over Villanova. Baker added three rebounds, an assists and a steal in 38 minutes of work.

Baker and the Hawks return to action Sunday against Princeton. Game time is set for 2 p.m. at Hagan Arena.
