Saint Joseph's women's basketball team heads to New Orleans, Louisiana as the Hawks take part in the Big Easy Classic this Friday and Saturday. The Hawks open play against tournament host Tulane at 8 p.m. on Friday with live audio broadcast free on the Saint Joseph's Sports Network.

Saint Joseph's looks to snap a two-game losing skid as the Hawks travel to New Orleans for the Big Easy Classic this Friday and Saturday.
The Hawks are coming off their lowest scoring output of the year on Wednesday, scoring a season-worst 40 points at Lehigh after shooting just 27.9 percent (17-of-61) from the floor.
The 40 points were the lowest offensive effort by Saint Joseph's since a 42-33 loss to Massachusetts on January 13, 2005. The Hawks failed to reach 40 point five times during the 2004-05 season and finished with a 7-23.
This weekend's tournament is the first of two in-season tournaments Saint Joseph's will appear in this year and the 67th in-season tournament appearance in program history.
The Hawks are 87-54 all-time in in-season tournaments and have won 16 titles.
Saint Joseph's has advanced to the title game in 14 of 17 in-season tournaments under head coach Cindy Griffin, with a 24-14 record in those tournament under her watch.
The Hawks will face Tulane in the opening game Friday evening with the matchup being just the second time the two teams have met. Saint Joseph's won the previous matchup, 83-72, in the First Round of the 1999 NCAA Tournament as then-freshman and current assistant coach Susan Moran posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Saturday's game against Detroit is the first meeting between Saint Joseph's and the Titans.
The 2010-11 season marks the 38th year of Division I women's basketball at Saint Joseph's. The Hawks are seven wins shy of 700, having posted a 693-361 all-time record.
