The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the Lafayette-Rider Invitational at the Armory on Friday evening. Andrew Townsend and Jared Sabre led the Hawks with IC4A qualifying times in the 1,000 meter and 500 meter dash, respectively.
Townsend won the 1,000 meter with a personal-best 2:27.65 while Sabre ran a personal-best 1:04.96 to finish third in the 500 meter dash.
In the mile Luke Fischer finished second with a personal-best time of 4:17.25 while Brian Guterl (4:19.34) and Ryan Birchmeier (4:22.58) also ran personal bests finishing fourth and sixth, respectively.
In the 800 meter Ryan Garvin had a fifth place finish with a personal-best time (1:55.75) while Tom DiNatale took 15th (22.75) in the 200m dash and Steven Philbrook placed 11th (51.42) in the 400 meter dash.
The Hawks compete in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in Kingston, R.I. on Friday and Saturday.
