Sclafani and McDonnell Lead Men's Track at Yale

New Haven, Conn. - The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the Giegengack Invitational at Yale on Friday and Saturday. Jonathan Sclafani and Kevin McDonnell earned IC4A qualifying times in the 5,000 and 3,000, respectively.

Sclafani took second in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:45.83, while McDonnell finished with a time of 8:16.74 for a third place finish in the 3,000 meter run. Kyle Murray finished the 3,000m in ninth place (8:31.06).

Freshman Andrew Townsend took 10th in the 1,000 meter run with a team-best time of 2:30.56. Along with Luke Fischer, Garrett Barbalinardo, and Ryan Garvin, Townsend also helped earn an IC4A qualifying time of 10:10.41 with a seventh place finish in the distance medley relay, while the Hawks placed third in the 4x400 meter relay (3:20.35).

In the 60 meter dash Tom DiNatale qualified for finals finishing 10th with a personal best time (7.31) and took 11th in the 200m in 22.79, while Drew Brandt won his heat placing 16th overall (23.93).

The Hawks compete next on Friday and Saturday at Lafayette/Rider before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championships February 19-20.
