The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the Mason Spring Invitational at George Mason on Saturday. Junior Luke Fischer won the 1,500 meter run while Jared Sabre took third in the 400 meter dash.
Fischer ran the 1,500 in a season-best 3:53.22 while Ryan Garvin finished soon after in 4:02.91 for an eighth-place finish.
Sabre clocked in at 48.59 seconds for third in the 400m and David Smith followed in ninth (50.08) while in the 200m Tom DiNatale took eighth (22.52) to win his heat and placed ninth in the 100m dash.
Steven Philbrook and Jon Mazzio each placed fourth in their events. Philbrook ran the 400 meter hurdles in a season-best 55.25 seconds while Mazzio also had a season best in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:55.48).
In relays the Hawks took third in both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays, finishing in 43.17 seconds and 3:19.96, respectively.
Saint Joseph's returns to action on Saturday at Princeton.
