The Saint Joseph's men's track competed in the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Princeton. Junior Jared Sabre highlighted the team's performance over the weekend with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a season-best time of 48.58 seconds.
Sabre also ran the last leg of the 4x400-meter relay also composed of David Smith, Steven Philbrook, and Garrett Barbalinardo. The squad completed the circuit in 3:20.73, good for third place.
A trio of runners recorded season-best finishes including senior James Jennings in the 5,000-meter run with the team's fastest time so far this season (14:38.72). Brian Guterl ran to the team's second fastest time (3:55.13) this season in the 1,500-meter run while Luke Fischer improved his time in the 800-meter with the third-best time on the team (1:55.14).
SJU will compete in the Penn Relays starting on Thursday and continuing through Saturday at Franklin Field.
