Women's Basketball Begins Three-Game Road Swing at Dayton on Saturday

DAYTON, OHIO - Saint Joseph's women's basketball team begins a three-game road swing this Saturday as the Hawks travel to Dayton for a 2 p.m. tip with the Flyers. The game will be streamed live online on the Saint Joseph's Sports Network.

GAME STORIES . . .
• The Hawks are coming off a 51-40 loss to St. Bonaventure on Wednesday in which SJU matched its season-low scoring output, which it set in a 46-40 loss at Lehigh on December 1.
• The Hawks are currently tied with Massachusetts for ninth place in the Atlantic 10 with a 2-4 record. Saint Joseph's last opened conference play with a 2-4 mark during the 2008-09 season as SJU started A-10 play with a 2-6 record and finished 5-9.
• Saint Joseph's enters Saturday's matchup with Dayton holding an 11-8 edge in the all-time series. The Hawks and Flyers have split the eight games in Dayton, going 4-4 at UD Arena.
• Junior forward Samira Van Grinsven moved up the Hawks' record books on Wednesday, tying for ninth in SJU's top-10 single-season shot blockers. Van Grinsven, who leads the club with 37 rejections, is currently tied with SJU assistant coach Stephanie McCaffrey (nee Graff) for ninth. She additionally is leading the Hawks in scoring on Atlantic 10 contests, averaging 10.2 points per game.
• Juniors Michelle Baker and Kelly Cavallo are coming off season-low scoring performances. Baker was held to four points on 2-of-12 shooting versus St. Bonaventure, while Cavallo went just 1-of-2 from the foul line for one point. The duo entered the game against the Bonnies averaging 22.1 points per contest.
