GAME STORIES . . .
• Saint Joseph's enters Sunday's game eighth in the Atlantic 10 standings. A victory, coupled with losses by Dayton, Richmond, Duquesne and St. Bonaventure could catapult the Hawks to the fifth seed. A loss to the Colonials would solidify the eighth seed for SJU.
• The Hawks hold a slight 26-24 edge in the all-time series against the Colonials, including a 63-47 in last year's meeting at Hawk Hill (boxscore and recap on page two). George Washington had won five of the previous six games in the series before that, and won the last two contests at the Smith Center. SJU and the Colonials have split the 24 meetings in Washington, D.C.
• The Hawks are coming off a heart-breaking 52-49 loss to Temple on Wednesday that snapped their five-game win streak and gave the Owls the Big 5 title.
• Saint Joseph's has held a halftime lead in nine of 13 Atlantic 10 contests. The Hawks, who have held a lead entering the second half the past five games, only trailed to Temple (1/19), Massachusetts, St. Bonaventure and Rhode Island after the opening 20 minutes.
• Sunday's game is the final road contest of the year for the Hawks. They enter the game with an 8-5 record away from Hawk Hill and 4-2 mark in Atlantic 10 road games.
• Junior guard Michelle Baker earned her third Big 5 Player of the Week honor this week as she helped the Hawks to a 2-0 record. Averaging 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, Baker scored a game-high 22 points in last Wednesday's win at Duquesne and followed with a team-high 15 points and seven rebounds against La Salle.
