Sabre Leads Men's Track at Armory Collegiate Challenge

New York, N.Y. - Senior Jared Sabre won the 500 meter, with a personal record and IC4A-qualifying time, to pace the Saint Joseph's men's track team as it competed at the Armory Collegiate Challenge in New York on Friday.

Sabre ran the 500 meter in 1:03.00, while George Arcarola finished in 1:06.10 to place 12th and Garrett Barbalinardo took 21st in 1:06.76.

David Smith also ran a personal best, finishing the mile in 49.90 seconds to place 12th, while Michael Gallagher and freshman Griffith Roberts ran season bests to finish 15th (50.28) and 27th (50.77).

In the 800 meter run, Andrew Townsend ran a season-best 1:58.84 to place 21st, while freshman Tommy O'Kane finished in 2:01.33 (31).

Vince Collins competed in the 3,000 meter and finished 19th in 8:55.15.

The Hawks will compete in the IC4A Championships at the Boston University Track and Field Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday and Sunday.
