For the second time this season, Saint Joseph's senior Luke Fischer was named Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Performer of the Week for his outstanding performances, conference officials announced on Monday.
Fischer earned fourth place in the 1,000 meter and the distance medley relay at the Giegegack Invitational held at Yale on February 4-5.
The Yardley, Pennsylvania native ran the 1,000 meter in a personal-best and IC4A-qualifying time of 2:26.97, which ranks first in the Atlantic 10 conference this season.
Fischer ran the first leg of the distance medley relay squad that finished with a season-best time of 10:01.00, which ranks second in the conference.
Earlier this season, Fischer was named A10 Co-Performer of the Week for a first-place performance in the mile at Penn State Nationals, which currently remains the team's top time (4:16.48) of the season.
The Hawks compete at Lafayette/Rider on Friday in their last meet before the Atlantic 10 Championships on February 17-19.
