Boston, Mass. - The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the IC4A Indoor Track Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston on Saturday and Sunday. Jared Sabre and David Smith earned IC4A All-East honors in the 500 meter along with the 4x800 meter relay.

Sabre took second in the preliminary round of the 500 meter in 1:03.01 and improved to a personal-best 1:02.47 to finish third overall.

Smith placed seventh in preliminaries with a personal-best 1:03.57 and finished sixth overall (1:03.71).

The 4x800 meter relay squad of David Manion, Jesse Brooks, Logan Hohs, and Luke Fischer placed ninth in preliminaries with a season-best time of 7:36.54 to qualify and finished eighth overall (8:00.01).

Also in relays, the 4x400m team finished with their second-fastest time of the season (3:18.29) to take 22nd, while the distance medley relay finished in 10:05.28 to place 17th.

Fischer ran the 1,000 meter in 2:27.47 to record a 17th-place finish, while Jon Mazzio finished the 3,000 meter in 8:31.75 to place 29th.

The IC4A's conclude the Hawks' 2010-11 indoor season and will gear up for the outdoor season beginning at Lafayette on Saturday, March 26.
