PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's track team competed in the Lafayette/Rider Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York on Friday. The 4x800 team led the Hawks with a first place finish.
The 4x800m team of Tommy O'Kane, James Gentile, Ryan Fenimore and Lester Taylor took first place with a time of 7:56.37. The 4x400m team of Garret Barbilinardo, Tom DiNatale, David Furman and Nicholas Beninato also had a good outing placing fourth.
Jon Mazzio had a strong fifth place performance in the 3000m, crossing the stripe at 8:25.61. Finishing in sixth was Michael Rankin at 8:30.65.
Griff Roberts posted a sixth place finish in the 500m at 1:06.05 while Nicholas Beninato came in 13th. Tommy O'Kane turned in a 2:33.41 performance in the 100m to grab 12th place.
John DiPersio turned in a 10th place mark of 38-06.75 in the triple jump while Vinh Nghi To placed 11th in with a jump of 38-03.00.
The Hawks compete in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in Kingston, Rhode Island on Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18.
