ble figures as Saint Joseph's defeated Rhode Island, 81-44, on "Senior Night", at Hagan Arena. Ronald Roberts, Jr., notched his 13th double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Chris Wilson added 11 points and six assists. Senior Carl Jones had 10 points in SJU's largest winning margin of the season. In the first half, SJU broke an 8-8 tie with a 10-2 run, with five points from Aiken. Late in the half, the Hawks scored 14 consecutive points, led by another five from Aiken, to go up by double digits and take a a 39-20 lead at halftime. Saint Joseph's connected on 57.7 percent from the field in the half. The Hawks continued their roll in the second half and held a 54-31 lead with 13:44 to play on a three-point play by Roberts. Owning a 61-41 lead with 7:34 remaining, SJU held Rhode Island scoreless for the next five minutes, building its lead up to 72-42. The Hawks celebrated "Senior Night" by honoring Jones, Taylor Trevisan and Christopher Coyne prior to the game. Trevisan entered the contest in the final minutes and scored a career-high five points in four minutes.

LAST TIME AT CHARLOTTE: The Hawks and 49ers met twice in 2011-12, with both games at Hagan Arena, but it was the meeting at Halton Arena in the regular-season finale on March 5, 2011, that was a thriller. The Hawks pulled out a 71-70 win to earn the final spot in the A-10 Tournament. Langston Galloway tied his career-high with 27 points and hit a free throw with 4.1 seconds to play to give SJU the win. The Hawks shot a blistering 11-for-19 from 3-point range in the victory. Galloway went 8-for-11 from the field and a career-best 6-for-7 from 3-point range while Carl Jones scored 19 points and Idris Hilliard added 10 points. With SJU leading, 70-67, Charlotte's Derrio Green connected on a baseline three-pointer with 10.3 seconds to go to knot the game at 70. On SJU's possession, Galloway drove to the hoop and was fouled with 4.1 seconds remaining. He made the first to provide the winning point, and although he missed the second, Charlotte could only get off a desperation shot from beyond halfcourt.

RETURN TO ACTION: C.J. Aiken came off the bench vs. Rhode Island after missing the first game of his career with back and wrist injuries. The junior scored 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting to lead the 81-44 win. Aiken first sprained his left wrist in the Dayton game and re-aggravated it in the loss at Saint Louis on Feb. 27. He bruised his back on a fall, also at Saint Louis.

RACKING THEM UP: Ronald Roberts, Jr. needs just five rebounds to reach 600 for his career and become the 29th Hawk to do so. He also surpassed the 900-point mark vs. Rhode Island and now has 908.

WE LOVE THE 80'S: Saint Joseph's, which has only scored 80-plus points three times all year, has done it in two consecutive games.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Hawks are 5-7 on the road this season and have lost four straight. The last road win was on Jan. 30 at Fordham.

BOUNCING BACK: Carl Jones rebounded from a two-point performance at Saint Louis to hit for 24 points in the win over Fordham. The senior made four of his first five three-point attempts en route to 17 first-half points. It was his first 20-plus point game since he had 21 points at VCU on Jan. 17. Jones' two-point effort at Saint Louis was his lowest point total of the year, with three points vs. Fairfield being the previous low.

POSTING UP: Ronald Roberts, Jr. had a big game at Saint Louis in a losing cause. The junior shot 8-for-10 from the field, hitting all five shots in the second half, en route to a season-high 25 points. Roberts also converted 9-for-11 from the foul line and grabbed seven rebounds. The 6-8 forward has been perhaps the most consistent Hawk this season and has put up career-best numbers in rebounds (239), rebounding average (8.5) and scoring average (11.7).

MODEL CITIZEN: Langston Galloway is one of 20 college basketball student-athletes to be named to the inaugural Allstate NABC Good Works Team® and Allstate WBCA Good Works Team®, as announced by The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Allstate Insurance Company. The award recognizes a unique group of men's and women's college basketball student-athletes who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement. Galloway and the other men's players will make a trip to the 2013 NCAA Final Four in Atlanta and participate in a community service project there. Over the years, Galloway has done community service, including collecting sneakers and shoes for the needy and working with his parents to raise donations for the Heroes Program, which helps high school students take college preparation courses.

SENIOR SALUTE: The Hawks' seniors had a good sendoff with the win over Rhode Island on Wednesday night. Carl Jones, who has played in 122 games and is the fourth leading scorer in school history with 1,776 points, scored 10 points in the win. Taylor Trevisan made the squad as a walk-on in 2010-11 and has since earned a scholarship, and against URI, scored five points in four minutes of action. Christopher Coyne, a two-year walk-on with the team, also saw playing time in that game.

SWITCHING IT UP: The Hawks used another starting lineup, the fifth different one of the season, in the win over Fordham on March 2. Halil Kanacevic made his second consecutive start and Daryus Quarles made his second of the year as C.J. Aiken was sidelined with injuries. That lineup was the same against Rhode Island, but Aiken did come off the bench.

HOT SHOOTING: SJU shot 62.1 percent from the field in the second half vs. Fordham, matching the highest shooting percentage for a half this year which was set in the second half at VCU. The Hawks followed that with a 57.7 percent effort in the first half of the Rhode Island win.

IDES OF MARCH: Over the years, Saint Joseph's has shown that it can "get hot" in March and the Hawks are hoping that happens again this season. SJU is 2-0 thus far in this month and owns a 14-10 record in March over the past six years (counting this season). In 2010-11, the Hawks finished the A-10 regular season with a 4-12 record, but made a run to the conference semifinals.

LOOKING AHEAD: The Hawks will open play in the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship with a first-round game on Thursday, March 14 in Brooklyn. Game times for first-round action are Noon, 2:30, 6:30 and 9 p.m. with all four contests being televised on the NBC Sports Network.
