Langston Galloway Headed to NCAA Final Four as Member of Allstate NABC Good Works Team

April 2, 2013

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's junior Langston Galloway will be heading to the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four in Atlanta this weekend as a member of the inaugural Allstate NABC Good Works Team®, which was selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and Allstate Insurance Company.

The award recognizes a unique group of college basketball student-athletes who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of volunteerism and civic involvement.

Galloway and the rest of the team will participate in a youth basketball clinic on Sunday, April 7, serving as camp counselors for members of the Special Olympics of Georgia.

The team will attend the NCAA Men's Final Four semifinal games on Saturday and the championship game on Monday, while being recognized on the court during the second semifinal game.

Galloway and the team will also be recognized at NCAA Bracket Town and will attend the NABC Guardians of the Game Awards show, both taking place on Sunday.

Galloway is joined on the 2013 Allstate NABC Good Works Team® by the following NCAA Division I men's basketball players: Jakob Gollon (Jr., Mercer University); John Mann (Jr., Belmont University); Peyton Siva (Sr., University of Louisville); and Tyler Thornton (Jr., Duke University).

The 6-2 guard from Baton Rouge, La., has shown a commitment to helping others since his high school career at Christian Life Academy. Galloway has been involved in collecting sneakers and shoes which have been given to the needy through programs run by the St. Vincent DePaul Society and Soles4Souls, Inc., which sends them to Haiti. While at Saint Joseph's, he and his parents have raised donations and made contributions to the Heroes Program, which helps needy high school students take college preparation courses. He has also been an active participant in the Hawks' community service efforts, such as the Christmas Charity project, and has worked with his church (Epic Church in Philadelphia) to send money and care packages overseas to the military.
