Women's Basketball Travels To Liberty On Saturday

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team begins a four-game road stretch starting this Saturday when the Hawks travel to Liberty for a 2 p.m. tip at the Vines Center.

GAME STORIES . . .
• The Hawks are coming off a 78-74 overtime win against Big 5 rival Temple on Tuesday.
• Junior forward Sarah Fairbanks had a career game versus the Owls as she set new personal bests for points in a game (23) and rebounds (13).
• Sophomore guard Kathleen Fitzpatrick tallied 14 points against Temple, matching her career-high of 14 that she set last year against Liberty.
• As a team, Saint Joseph's bounced back from a poor free throw shooting performance at Rutgers (12-of-22) as the Hawks hit 25-of-30 from the foul line versus Temple, including 6-of-7 in the extra frame.
• With Tuesday's win, SJU head coach Cindy Griffin (247-167) moved to within one victory of Jim Foster's program record of 248.
• Saint Joseph's improved to 37-5 in home openers with its win over Temple on Tuesday.
• Saturday's matchup with Liberty is just the second meeting between the Hawks and the Flames.
• Saint Joseph's won last year's inaugural matchup, 77-65, on November 23 at Hagan Arena.
• Saint Joseph's is 2-0 all-time versus Big South teams having topped Liberty last year and previously beating Radford, 87-69, at the Duke Classic on November 30, 1996.
