PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team caps its two-game homestand to open the season this Sunday when the Hawks host Bucknell at 2 p.m.
The game will be streamed on the Atlantic 10 Network for a fee, while live audio and stats are free to all fans.
The Hawks are looking to bounce back from their opening-night set-back against Big 5 rival Temple. Despite having four players in doubles figures, Saint Joseph's fell to the Owls, 86-70.
GAME STORIES
• The Hawks and Bison meet for just the fourth time with SJU holding a 3-0 edge in the series.
• Saint Joseph's topped bucknell, 63-56, in the previous meeting on November 12, 2006 at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
• Saint Joseph's finished with four players in double figures on Friday. The Hawks had that occur just four times in 2015-16.
• On Friday, sophomore guard Alyssa Monaghan tallied a team-best 15 points in a reserve role. Monaghan finished 5-of-7 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, and was 2-of-3 from the foul line as she finished a point shy of matching her career-high.
• Preseason A-10 All-Conference Third Team selection Chelsea Woods had a strong finish to Friday's game as she scored 11 points to go with a team-high seven rebounds and four assists despite playing much of the game in foul trouble.
• Co-captain Adashia Franklyn added 10 points in a starting role, with senior Amanda Fioravanti finishing with 14 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots.
• Newcomer Jaryn Garner scored four points and had two assists in her first start as a Hawk.
• Sophomore guard Kristalyn Baisden had a career-high seven points on Friday and nearly surpassed her total scoring output for all of 2015-16 (eight points).
