Women's Basketball Caps Road Trip At UNM Thanksgiving Tournament

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Saint Joseph's women's basketabll team wraps a four-game road swing this Friday and Saturday at the University of New Mexico Thanksgiving Tournament.

GAME STORIES . . .
• The Hawks will face BYU in the opening game on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET and will face either Tulsa or the host Lobos on Saturday.
• Saint Joseph's is coming off its first win of the season on Tuesday, 57-53, at Big 5 rival Penn. Sophomore Sarah Veilleux led the Hawks with a career-high 15 points.
• This weekend marks the 53rd away/neutral in-season tournament the Hawks have played in. Saint Joseph's has won 10 tournament titles, and advanced to the championship game 26 times.
• In 16 tournaments under head coach Cindy Griffin, the Hawks have made the title game 10 times and won the 2005 Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic and 2007 Brown Basketball Classic.
• Friday's matchup with BYU is the third meeting with the series tied at 1-1.
• The Hawks won the previous meeting, 101-79 in the consolation game of the 1988 Boilermaker Classic as SJU head coach Cindy Griffin was a sophomore on the team.
• The Cougars won the inaugural meeting with SJU, 91-67, on December 15, 1979 at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. • Saint Joseph's has never faced Tulsa or host New Mexico.
